The object chosen by Flávio is a reference to his promise to cut expenses and privileges, in an allusion to the chainsaw used by Javier Milei in his victorious campaign in Argentina.
The PT members’ assessment, however, is that Flávio will face difficulties in making the same idea take off in Brazil.
This is because Milei was an outsider in politics, while Flávio and his family have accumulated several mandates and have a large window into public life.
“This speech doesn’t work, just look at how much they spent on the Presidency, the corporate card bill, for example”, says Edinho.
