The plane carrying Venezuela’s captured president, Nicolás Maduro, and his wife landed in the United States, according to sources cited by The New York Times.
According to the publication, the couple will be taken by helicopter to Manhattan. From there, Maduro will drive to the New York headquarters of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). He will then be transported by helicopter to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he will be detained.
The Venezuelan president is scheduled to appear in court next Monday.
