Maduro arrives at detention center in New York after being captured by the US

Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro arrived at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, after being taken by helicopter to Manhattan and escorted there by a convoy of police vehicles, the New York Police Department confirmed to CNN.

Several figures involved in high-profile federal cases, such as Sean “Diddy” Combs, have been detained there.

Maduro is scheduled to appear in Manhattan federal court next week to face charges of drug trafficking and illegal weapons possession.
