Actress Valentina Thielová († 89) is still remembered by the audience as the strict professor Boženka from the Christmas classic Sněženka a machři. In private, she went through an ordeal that few people know about. Fate dealt cruel blows to the actress. Twice she fought for her bare life, she lost the opportunity to have her own children and she was left with almost no money in her old agereminds the portal
She was able to speak openly about her suffering. “I had two ectopic pregnancies in my youth, once it was supposed to be twins. My life was at stake,” she said in the past. At that time, there were no ultrasounds, so she underwent drastic operations that deprived her of her dream of starting her own family. Thiel considered adoption, but did not find support. “I wanted to, but my husband didn’t want someone else’s child,” she admitted.
Her first husband was a Czech poet and writer Vladimir Thiel. She married a second time Arpád Vilček. He already had children from a previous relationship who lived in Slovakia, but they did not understand each other at all. Despite the fact that they supported them financially for many years, the contact gradually disappeared. After the death of Vilček, his descendants were entitled to the inheritance, therefore Thielová found herself in a difficult situation.
„I had to invite an appraiser to our apartment and pay them. I gave them everything that my husband and I had saved in our entire life, it was over a million and a half,” the actress confided that she found herself completely without funds after this settlement. They even told her to sell the apartment and go live in a nursing home.
Despite the life wounds, the actress tried not to be bitter. “One must not break. He must think optimistically. A lot of people are worse off. It is important not to be useless,” she spoke with a perspective that contrasted with what she had been through. The actress died in October 2022 at the age of 89.
