The Minister of Institutional Relations, , nominally criticized the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), for his support on Saturday (3), and accused the governor of cynicism.
“Tarcísio Freitas, who wore a Trump cap, celebrated the tariffs he imposed on Brazil, supported Eduardo Bolsonaro’s betrayal of the country, defended amnesty for convicted coup plotters, now has the gall to hold people responsible for the US invasion of Brazil. It’s a lot of cynicism for just one Bolsonaro supporter,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
The minister refers to a video published by Tarcísio in which the governor talks about the capture of Nicolás Maduro and says that the Venezuelan’s dictatorial government was only maintained because it received “connivance and omission” from political supporters. At this point in the video, a scene of President Lula () hugging Maduro is shown.
The day before, she had already criticized members of the Brazilian right for saying that the US invasion of Venezuela has nothing to do with defending democracy.
