Delta Force – which carried out his and his wife’s business – is one of the US military’s premier “special missions” units, specializing in counter-terrorism, hostage rescue operations, direct action and special reconnaissance — often against high-value targets.
It was established in 1977 and reports directly to the Joint Special Operations Command, headquartered at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. It consists of eight operational groups.
Almost all information about Delta Force is top secret, but it is generally called upon to carry out some of the most complex, secret and dangerous missions at the behest of the President of the United States and the Secretary of Defense.
Her role is decisive
Along with the US Navy’s infamous SEAL Team 6, Delta Force has played a key role in some of the most high-profile US military operations in recent decades — including the 1993 mission to Somalia to rescue US servicemen after their helicopter was shot down during the Battle of Mogadishu.
This mission was made more widely known by the 2001 film Black Hawk Down.
Delta Force also participated in Operation “Just Cause” in Panama, which led to the capture of former Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega in December 1989, and has been cited by many Trump administration officials as a precursor to the mission against Maduro.
