Colombia mobilizes 30,000 soldiers on the border with Venezuela

There are more than 30,000 Colombian soldiers currently positioned along the 2,200 kilometers d, Colombian Defense Minister Pedro Arnulfo Sánchez reported this Sunday (4).

The military reinforcement comes after the United States attacks on Venezuelan territory and the capture of dictator Nicolás Maduro.

According to Sánchez, in an interview with CNNthe troops are prioritizing strategic regions where two groups linked to drug trafficking operate: the National Liberation Army (ELN) and Tren de Aragua.

On Saturday (3), around 3am (Brasília time), arrived and his wife, Cilia Flores. The action resulted in the capture of the Venezuelan leader.

Hours later, Maduro was taken to the United States escorted by federal agents, handcuffed and wearing gray clothes. He was taken to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he remains detained.

The Venezuelan leader is expected to appear for the first time in Brasilia time.
