Šutaj Eštok claims that the cyber protection of the Department of the Interior is at the world level: He plans to involve artificial intelligence

According to Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok (Hlas-SD), the cyber infrastructure of the Ministry of the Interior (MV) is world-class protected. The head of the department guaranteed that there was no manipulation of data for the energy assistance system during last year’s cyber attack on the Ministry of Economy. According to him, it works on the systems of the Department of the Interior. The department plans to involve artificial intelligence (AI) in the cyber protection of the state. Šutaj Eštok stated this in an interview for TASR.

  • The Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic has world-class cyber protection.
  • Last year’s cyber attack did not affect the data of the energy aid system of the Ministry of Economy.
  • The Ministry plans to involve artificial intelligence in the cyber protection of the state.
  • AI will be tested in a short time and then put into use.
  • The pilot introduction of AI in communication with citizens is planned for 2026.

The minister expects a test operation of cyber protection through AI in a short time. “We are talking about a very short time, perhaps not even months, when we would already be able to test artificial intelligence in this way and not only test it, but also actually use it for protection. Today, artificial intelligence is at an extremely advanced level, and I can say that even Slovakia will not lag behind, and we are already walking with many countries that take security here seriously.” he declared.

The head of the Ministry of the Interior would also like to involve AI in communication with the citizen in 2026. It could help people find their way in state services. According to him, the pilot solution could be deployed in district offices and client centers during this year.

“I am convinced that in the future, and it may be in the very short future, a large part of officials will also be replaced by artificial intelligence. Because you have a lot of processes that are automated today, for which you basically don’t need the human factor, and that will be the trend. And I am convinced that the state in five years, if it is well managed, will look completely different from what it looks like today.” Šutaj Eštok thinks.
