A well-known Czech actor Pavel Travnicek (75) he was troubled during the most beautiful holidays, and in the new year his condition became even more complicated. He honestly treated the bronchitis he got before Christmas in bed, but after the new year, his health took him to the hospital, writes the newspaper. On the very first day of 2026, his wife Monika (40) handed him over to the team of the well-known professor Petr Neužil, who rescued Jiřina Bohdalová several times.

Favorite actor and voice actor he also had to go under the scalpel last summer, when he underwent cardiac surgery. He also scared his family and fans during the Christmas holidays in 2022. At the time, Monika reported on her account that her husband had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance because he had breathing problems. He had other health problems more than 10 years ago. They dragged on for four months and were solved only by urological surgery. “I was afraid I was going to die. I realized that everything has a beginning and an end,” he once admitted.

Pavel Trávniček was born in Konice near Prostějov in a family where they were close to music, his father played the violin and his sister Marta teaches music. He spent his childhood in Moravská Třebová, where he actively played football and played the piano and trumpet. After graduating from the natural science gymnasium, he continued his studies at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts (JAMU) in Brno, and after graduating, he was a member of the Mrštík Brothers Theater for 3 years.

Trávniček played the prince from a fairy tale based on Božena Němcová’s first major film role, which brought him popularity and admiration, while still a university student in 1973. And so well that if he only filmed this one role in his life, we would still remember him. At the screening of films for children in Ostrov nad Ohří, he was awarded the “Golden Pipe for the best acting performance by a boy” for it. However, Trávniček made his film debut alongside Božidara Turzonová and Miloš Kopecky in the comedy Hry lásky šalivé in 1971. In the 70s and 80s of the 20th century, thanks to his princely appearance, he was mainly cast in fairy tales: The Third Prince, About Happiness and Beauty, About the Nightingale and the Rose of Pearl.

He also played dudes, soldiers or sons from better families: Time of love and hope, Drsná planina, Tale of love and honor. In 1976, he went permanently to Prague, guested at the EF Buriana Theater, the Drama Club and finally anchored at the Municipal Theaters of Prague.

In the 90s of the last century, he appeared in films less: Blow my strawberries, Ugly Katka, or the retro cycle Tell. At that time, he again became famous for his excellent dubbing. World acting legends spoke to us with his voice (Alan Alda, Alain Delon, John Travolta, Steve Guttenberg, Terence Hill, Mel Gibson, Jeff Goldblum).

After 1990, he also worked as the artistic director of the Musical Theater in Karlín. He founded the Skelet Theater and the Theater Illusion Biograf company, that’s all a thing of the past today. For several years, he hosted the music show DO-RE-MI on TV Nova with Sabina Laurinová.
