Carolina Pedreira elected the best young futsal player in the world

Carolina Pedreira, 23 years old, who in December was runner-up in the world championship in the first edition of the women’s championship, has played for three seasons in Spain and is currently with the Poio Pescamar team.

Portuguese international winger Carolina Pedreira was elected the best young player in the world in futsal, Futsal Planet, a website that annually distinguishes the best in the sport, announced this Wednesday.

Carolina Pedreira, 23 years old, who in December was runner-up in the world championship in the first edition of the women’s championship, held in Manila, Philippines, has played for three seasons in Spain and is currently with the Poio Pescamar team.

More Portuguese nominated

Futsal Planet also announced the winners of the best player in the world, awards given to Brazilians Fabinho and Emilly, categories in which the Portuguese Zicky and Lídia Moreira were also among the nominees.

Other nominations were Ana Catarina Pereira, already a four-time winner, for best goalkeeper in the world, and Renato Almeida and Rodrigo Monteiro for best young player, but with the 2025 distinctions being awarded to Brazilian Ana Carolina and Uruguayan Franco Duque.

Futsal Planet will also announce more awards, with Portugal also having among those nominated the coach Luís Conceição, the men’s under-19 team, the men’s under-19 coach and the women’s team.
