Flávio says that leaders of the União-PP federation are “enthusiastic” about his candidacy

The senator and pre-candidate for President for the Liberal Party, Flávio Bolsonaro (RJ), said on Tuesday (6) that the leaders of the União Brasil e Progressista federation are enthusiastic about his candidacy.

“The conversations are very good. [Antônio Rueda (União Brasil) e Ciro Nogueira (PP-PI)] They are also enthusiastic about my pre-candidacy and everyone is on this page. And so, I truly believe that they will come with our platform”, he highlighted in an interview with blogger Paulo Figueiredo’s podcast, in the United States.

Shortly after the announcement of Bolsonaro’s son’s candidacy, he considered that politics is not just about friendships, and that there would need to be a serious conversation between the center and right-wing parties so that the choice of a candidate is not made solely by the PL. Flávio’s statement may show a change in this scenario after the first electoral polls included the new candidate for Bolsonarism.

The senator also took advantage of the interview to comment on the possible candidacy of Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) for the Presidency of the Republic. Considered an ally of Flávio, an opposition ticket formed by the governor of São Paulo could fragment the votes on the right and represent a risk to both candidacies.

“If he [Tarcísio] If he were a candidate for President, he would put a lot at risk. Losing the state of São Paulo and also, why not, the risk of losing the presidential election to Lula, Tarcísio losing to Lula. So my pre-candidacy gives security to this platform”, he declared without making it clear whether he was referring to the dispute in São Paulo or for the presidency.
