The interim president of Alerj (do), Guilherme Delaroli (), dismissed this Tuesday (6) more than 200 employees of the House, including a son and an ex-wife of the former governor.
Those fired were part of the structure set up by the deputy (União), president removed from Alerj on suspicion of leaking information about an operation against former deputy TH Jóias, linked to .
Former deputy Marco Antônio Cabral, son of the former governor, was appointed in 2023, in the Bacellar administration. He was an advisor to the presidency and received a net amount of R$9,741.91 in December. Suzana Neves Cabral had been at Alerj since 2016, appointed by Jorge Picciani, and received, last month, R$10,910.88 net.
In a statement, Delaroli said he would not comment on specific exonerations. He stated that “the dismissals follow the natural course of the transition in the presidency.”
Marco Antônio stated that “dismissing and appointing is the president’s job, and he has the right to remove and replace whoever he wants.” He denied that he or his mother, Suzana, were ghost employees. Cabral’s ex-wife could not be reached for comment.
The former governor also spoke out on his social media and stated that “neither of them were ghosts.”
Bacellar worked in the Cabral administration and remained close after his release from prison, at the end of 2022. The former governor was one of the deputy’s advisors when he still wanted to run for state government. The pre-candidacy was weakened after investigations by the Federal Police into its relationship with TH Jóias.
In addition to the names linked to Cabral, Delaroli also dismissed Bacellar’s trusted names. Among them is Aislan de Souza Coelho, who was in the sub-directorate-general for Internal Control. The lawyer signed as treasurer of the campaign for the re-election of governor Cláudio Castro (PL), appointed by the president removed from Alerj.
There were also names linked to the former president of Alerj Paulo Mello. In a statement, the former deputy stated that the dismissals affected “professionals who have already worked on the team for many years.”
The dismissal was published in an extra edition of the Official Gazette and caused tension among Alerj employees, currently on recess. The expectation is that new dismissals will occur, to make room for Delaroli’s allies.
Initially, the deputy had been keeping a low profile, in order to await Bacellar’s movement after his removal from office, determined by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court). After the turn of the year, the interim decided to make room for his allies.
If he remains in the position, Delaroli will be responsible for commanding the indirect election scheduled to take place in the state in the first semester for governor.
The expectation is that Cláudio Castro (PL) will resign from his position to run for the Senate. As the position of vice became vacant after the resignation of Thiago Pampolha to take up a vacancy at the TCE (State Audit Court), the state Constitution determines that indirect elections be held to complete the term.
