Coach Mozart held, this Monday (5), his first press conference since taking charge of Ceará. Current champion of Series B of the Brazilian Championship with Coritiba, the coach projected a Vozão to be a protagonist in the competitions he will compete in this season.
Mozart highlighted the importance of the moment chosen for the change and stated that he was convinced of the decision taken
“I believe in cycles. It was a very challenging year for me. My family and I chose to end the cycle, and in my opinion, it was in an important way with the Series B title. I’m happy with my decision”, he stated.
Regarding the work in Ceará, the coach made it clear that the team enters all competitions with the aim of competing for titles. In total, there will be four competitions in 2026: Campeonato Cearense, Copa do Nordeste, Copa do Brasil and Série B do Brasileirão.
“You have to enter to win, it’s the requirement of working in a team of this size with the passion that our fans have. We are preparing for all the competitions we compete in. We are protagonists in them”, he said.
“The Copa do Nordeste is no exception. Ceará is one of the biggest winners of this competition, so I hope to have the opportunity to win this competition with this club”, he added.
Among the objectives outlined by Mozart are the Campeonato Cearense, in which Ceará is seeking its third consecutive title, and the Copa do Nordeste, a competition that Vozão has already won three times, the last achievement being in 2023.
Ceará makes its season debut on January 10th, against Floresta, in a game valid for the 2nd round of the Cearense Championship. The match will be at 4:30 pm (Brasília time), at Estádio Domingão, in Horizonte, in the interior of Ceará.
