The movement states that, for now, it remains only on alert regarding North American action on the soil of the South American country
The MST (Landless Rural Workers Movement) reported this Tuesday (Jan 6, 2026) that it is evaluating sending militants to Venezuela, after the United States operation on the soil of the South American country on Saturday (Jan 3).
Under orders from US President Donald Trump (Republican Party), US military personnel bombed the Caracas region and captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro (PSUV, left) to put him on trial in New York on charges of “narcoterrorism”.
According to the advisory body of the Brazilian social movement, the decision to send activists “It is a process that is still being built”. The eventual presence on Venezuelan soil would be to carry out protests against the USA.
“The unfolding of these actions is still not very clear, but we do not rule out sending a reinforcement of militancy, to act on the spot in Venezuela itself, as long as it is necessary”said Ceres Hadich, from the national coordination of the MST, in a note sent to Poder360.
The leader described solidarity with Venezuela as “clear, defined and public”. The MST has been working in the country for years with food production, agroecology and technology transfer.
Although he considers sending personnel, Hadich emphasizes that the current priority is the political denunciation of what he calls “kidnapping, invasion and deaths caused by the United States government”.
Venezuela is now under the command of Delcy Rodriguez, Maduro’s deputy, with US approval.

“The unfolding of these actions is still not very clear, but we do not rule out sending a reinforcement of militancy, of action on the spot in Venezuela itself, as long as it is necessary. Our concrete solidarity relations in Venezuela are very clear, defined, they are public, we have even contributed to the process of advancing food production, developing agroecology, agroecology technologies, to promote the massive production of food for the Venezuelan people, this has been happening for some time now, and being If other fronts of contribution are necessary at some point, we will certainly be preparing ourselves to be able to meet these demands that may arise. At this first moment, we are still very focused on making this immediate report, which is the report of the kidnapping, the invasion and the deaths that were caused by the United States government.”
