Oatmeal cookies with banana. The best substitute for store-bought sweets

Oatmeal cookies are one of the healthiest sweet snacksthat can be prepared at home. This makes such cookies a great alternative to ready-made sweets full of sugar and hydrogenated fats. That’s why we provide a recipe for such a healthy, simple snack that you can done in 30 minutes and eat it without any major remorse.

Ingredients:

  • 200 g oat flakes,
  • 2 large ripe bananas,
  • a handful of nuts (e.g. walnuts or hazelnuts),
  • a handful of dried plums,
  • 2 tablespoons of peanut butter,
  • a spoon of honey,
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar (preferably coconut).

How to do it:

1. Peel the banana and mash it with a fork until smooth. Chop the nuts and prunes into smaller pieces.

2. Add oats, nuts, plums, peanut butter, honey and coconut sugar to the bowl with the banana. Mix thoroughly until the mass is sticky and uniform.

3. Form small balls of the mixture in your hands, then flatten them slightly to form cookies. Place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

4. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for 10-12 minutes. They should turn brown, but they cannot brown too much because they will be hard. Cool them on a rack. They are best when still slightly warm.
