A signed a cooperation agreement with the government of Mato Grosso do Sul to replicate the Procurando Saber program in the state, a legal education initiative that takes prosecutors to public schools.
According to PGE data, the program has already served 560 students in 23 schools in São Paulo in two years, with the participation of 60 volunteer attorneys.
For the attorney general of the State of São Paulo, Inês Coimbra, the expansion of the program is a successful public policy that helps to “bring the State closer to society, strengthen public advocacy and contribute to citizen training.” “Here we have a practice that transforms because it connects, and connects because it occupies the territory where life happens”, he says.
Coimbra says that, this year, Procurando Saber will reach Fundação Casa, which has already received a pilot project with the participation of 15 young people.
