Mayor Marília Campos (PT), of Contagem (MG), says she does not understand her party’s delay in coming to the Government of Minas this year.
He is in his fourth term in the municipality in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, which has just over 620 thousand inhabitants and is the main one administered by the party in the state.
After the senator’s candidacy, Marília says that the party should articulate its support for the former mayor of Belo Horizonte.
“I can’t understand why we have such a timid stance, very little determination in articulating the candidacy of Kalil, from the center, who already supported Lula, was a good mayor and has votes”, says the mayor of Contagem.
Kalil had the support of the PT and left-wing parties in the 2022 elections, when he lost in the first round to the current governor, Romeu Zema (Novo).

of the PT in the last elections, Marília is one of the names being considered for one of the two seats in dispute for the Senate this year. She says, however, that she is also waiting for a definition from the party.
“I’m not going on an adventure. I’ve put my name forward, but I’m not claiming [a vaga]is different. But I think the PT is very slow”, he says.
