The day before Christmas in 2025, Czech police and customs officers intervened in the house of Karlos Vémola in Měchenice near Prague. The police detained him and two other men in connection with drugs, one was released. As the portal informs, the court sent the Czech MMA wrestler to custody. Criminal prosecution for illegal production and handling of narcotic substances has begun, for which Vémol faces 10 to 18 years in prison if found guilty.
After some time, the MMA fighter spoke about the accusations on the social network. “Thank you all for the words of support that have been coming my way. I really appreciate it. I don’t understand at all why I was accused in a five-year-old case that I know nothing about and that has already been resolved. With a lawyer, we will fight against prosecution and detention I firmly believe that everything will be explained and I will soon be home with the children and Lela,” made clear what he meant.
The police raid took place on the day he was about to go to hospital for jaw surgery. His health deteriorated in detention to such an extent that on December 30, 2025, he underwent surgery at the dental surgery department of the General University Hospital in Prague. “His condition is stable and he is receiving all available care. He thanks everyone for the words of support he receives,” his media team announced on Instagram.
He is currently recovering but still faces serious charges. In an interview with the portal, his lawyer Vlastimil Rampula stated that his client strictly denies all accusations. According to him, this is only unverified information obtained by hearsay. “This case is not about Karlos at all. It was very rash and reckless. All it has generated is huge media interest and a lot of speculation. It could destroy the client professionally and personally,” believes Rampula.
He reacted to the drug case of a well-known Czech rapper Patrik Rytmus Vrbovský after one of the fans asked him to comment on the social network. What is his opinion on the detention of Carlos? “Well, definitely not like all those one-celled people who applauded him and took pictures with him when he won. When something happens, the character of the rats will show in a second” he openly stated on Instagram.
In July 2022, the well-known artist took part in the spectacular wedding of the wrestler and Slovak model Lela Ceterová, with whom Vémola has three children – Lili, Rocky and Arnold. In recent years, Vémola has been part of the Fight Night Challenge (FNC) events, where Rytmus is one of the co-owners. He moderated and announced the matches directly in the ring. In addition, he also appeared at the pre-tournament weigh-ins, where he acted as the main announcer as part of the match conference, guiding the spectators and media through the entire program.
