US President Donald Trump and his team are discussing options for acquiring Greenland and using US military forces to further the objective is “always an option”, the White House said on Tuesday.
“President Trump has made it abundantly clear that the acquisition of Greenland is a U.S. national security priority, and is vital to deterring our adversaries in the Arctic region,” the White House said in a statement in response to questions from Reuters.
“The president and his team are discussing a range of options to pursue this important foreign policy objective, and, of course, utilizing U.S. military forces is always an option available to the commander in chief,” the White House added.
