Atlético-MG confirms signing of midfielder from Paraguay; find out details

Atlético agreed to sign midfielder Osmar Giménez, 18, who was at General Caballero, in Paraguay. The player revealed the negotiation in an interview with ABCfrom the Paraguayan country, and the Itatiaia confirmed the agreement this Wednesday (7).

“The truth is that yes, there is a lot of talk about Atlético Mineiro and I believe that this is already one hundred percent confirmed. I’m talking to the president (Julio Aldama) and he told me that before the 12th I already have to travel to resolve everything there”, stated Giménez.

The player recently changed managers. In fact, Juan Alberto Dragotto, who worked with Giménez, criticized the player in an interview with Radio Ñandutí.

“Unfortunately, players make decisions based on ignorance or trusting it out of necessity, or parents, who in this case depend 100% on the football player’s salary and are attached to their son, make certain decisions and sign documents. Unfortunately, the boy is lost,” the agent declared.

Regarded as one of the great promises of Paraguayan football, the midfielder is a member of the Paraguayan Under-20 team. At General Caballero, Osmar plays on the main team, with whom he won the Paraguayan Cup in 2025.

In total, Osmar Giménez has three goals and five assists in 38 games.
