Bolsonaro: PF says there is no way to resolve noise in the room – 01/07/2026 – Politics

A told the (Federal Supreme Court) that he did not have another room to keep () prisoner and that he was unable to resolve the former president’s complaint about the noise from the air conditioning. The information was given this Wednesday (7) in response to a request from the former president’s defense.

The minister determined last Monday that the PF would respond within five days. Last Friday (2), the former president’s lawyers asked for measures to reduce noise from the equipment, which would compromise the former president’s rest and affect his health while serving a prison sentence.

Bolsonaro returned to the scene this afternoon after leaving the superintendency to undergo tests at a hospital. According to former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro, Bolsonaro, “while sleeping, had a crisis, fell and hit his head on the furniture.”

Responsible for the response, delegate Maurício Rocha da Silva told the rapporteur that resolving the issue would disrupt the activities of the Federal Police on site. This is because the General Staff room where Bolsonaro is held is close to areas intended for the installation and operation of equipment for the building’s air conditioning system.

“Due to this proximity to technical areas, there is a level of noise in the environment. However, it is important to highlight that it is not possible to eliminate or significantly reduce this noise through simple or specific measures”, says the PF in the letter.

The defense asked for action regarding Bolsonaro’s complaint, such as adapting the air conditioning, insulation, changing the layout or equivalent solution. According to the delegate, however, it would not be possible to fulfill the request.

“Any effective intervention would require complex infrastructure actions and, above all, the total shutdown of the air conditioning system for a prolonged period, which would jeopardize the continuity of the ordinary work of this superintendence.”

For the former president’s lawyers, “although secluded in the General Staff Room —a right already observed by determination of this Court—, the environment currently available does not ensure minimum conditions of tranquility, rest and preservation of health.

Sentenced to 27 years and three months in prison for an attempted coup d’état, Bolsonaro went to the PF Superintendency in Brasília in November, when he damaged his electronic ankle bracelet and was removed from home care.

The room he occupies, on the ground floor of the superintendency, has a bed, a private bathroom and a work desk. It also has a television and minibar, in addition to air conditioning.

The space is reserved for authorities and other public figures, such as the national president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, arrested in 2024 during a PF operation into the coup plot.

The former senator (MS), the former governor of the Federal District and the former judge have also been housed in the superintendency.

Bolsonaro returned to the PF on January 1st, after spending eight days in the hospital to treat a groin hernia and hiccups, both conditions resulting from a stab wound he received during the 2018 election campaign.

On the same date, the former president’s defense of house arrest after discharge.

In his decision, Moraes said that “unlike what was alleged by the defense, there was no worsening of Jair Messias Bolsonaro’s health situation, but, rather, a clinical picture of improvement in the discomfort he was feeling, after carrying out the elective surgeries, as pointed out in his own doctors’ report”.
