Brazil breaks beef export record in 2025

Brazil broke a record in beef exports in 2025, even with the Temporary Tariff imposed by the United States. Last year, 3.5 million tons were exported, an increase of almost 21% compared to 2024.

The volume exported amounted to US$18 billion, around 40% more than the volume invoiced in the previous year. The data is from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, compiled by the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries. Fresh beef accounted for the majority of shipments with just over 3 million tons, growth of 21% year-on-year and revenue of US$16 billion.

Adding up all the fresh, processed, offal, tripe, fat and salted categories, Brazilian shipments reached more than 170 countries, expanding the international presence of the sector and diversifying destinations. China was the main destination for Brazilian beef in 2025, accounting for 48% of the total volume exported. Then the United States appears.

Next come Chile, the European Union, Russia and Mexico. Compared to 2024, there was growth in volume in most of the main destinations. Exports to China increased 22% year-to-date, while the United States registered an increase of 18%.

For 2026, the variation of the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries is between optimism and realism with the expectation of stability at a high level after two consecutive years of strong growth and an environment favorable to advancement in strategic markets.
