The Public Security Secretariat informed this Wednesday (7) that it will reinforce the security scheme in the Praça dos Três Poderes area, in , for the events that mark the three years since the coup attacks of January 8th.
According to the ministry, that of the Federal District set up a command and control structure on site, expanded overt policing and maintains specialized troops on standby for eventual deployment.
The measure aims to intensify monitoring and sharing of information, reduce response time and reinforce preventive actions, in order to guarantee public safety and the event.
In a note, the secretariat informed that road interventions may be adopted according to the risk assessment, including specific blockages. Monitoring may also involve approaches and searches of backpacks.
The isolation of the Esplanada dos Ministérios, under the responsibility of the Military Police, will begin at 00:01 on January 8, 2026 and will remain until the end of activities.
Unlike previous years, there will be no popular participation in Praça dos Três Poderes. The events will take place around the site, which is undergoing renovation.
To this end, Planalto closed Via N1, which gives access to the government headquarters, a protocol carried out on special occasions such as the reception of heads of state from other nations and September 7th parades.
