Government leader in Congress, the senator (PT-AP) defended that (8) the project that reduces sentences for those convicted is symbolic to show that democracy is non-negotiable.
“Three years after the fateful coup attempt, President Lula’s veto of the project that attempts to amnesty the criminals who organized it continues in the sense that democracy is non-negotiable and that Brazil will preserve the memory so that it never happens again”, he says.
“It is symbolic that this veto takes place today to make it clear that any attack on the Democratic Rule of Law will never again be tolerated in our country”, he adds.
President Lula took advantage of the event in memory of the acts of January 8, 2023 to veto the project that benefits the former president (PL).
