Dispose of liquids, place luggage on the conveyor belt and then through the metal detector. The security check procedure is well known to passengers. But for a long time it was constitutionally controversial whether the checks could be carried out by a private security company, as is currently the case at Vienna Airport. The Constitutional Court (VfGH) has now confirmed this in a recent decision, thereby creating a precedent (VfGH December 16, 2025, G215/2024).
