Resin is a substance produced by some plants. It most often appears in trees – especially conifers. It is used to protect places that are wounds or damage to the tree.
It is a substance insoluble in water, which makes it difficult to remove. However, there are home remedies to remove it from clothes. What to use?
Resin we can get dirty, for example, by accidentally rubbing against a tree in the forest, grabbing a pine cone covered with this substance and wiping our hands on or while dressing or undressing a live Christmas tree. It is not easy to remove because it is insoluble in water.
We are unable to get rid of it after placing the material under the tap, but this does not mean that clothes covered with it should be thrown away. There are home methods to deal with it. Most often, it is recommended to wait for it to dry or freeze it.
We can wait until the resin dries and try to gently scrape it off, or place the clothes in the freezer to dry. When it hardens, you can try to scratch it off with your fingernail or ATM card. Scotch tape or a clothes roller will deal with the remains.
Some people recommend using a special detergent. Others recommend using denatured alcohol to get rid of unwanted resin stains on clothes. To do this, place a cloth or towel under the stained material and apply the selected product to the area covered with it.
You can also use a mixture of spirit and turpentine in a 3:1 ratio. The stained clothing should then be washed in a washing machine at a low temperature. However, this method can only be used to clean synthetic fabrics.

Mix the ingredients in equal proportions, then apply a large amount to the stain and wash off after about 30 minutes. Clothes treated with such a paste should then be placed in the washing machine.
Natural fibers can be treated with a solution of acetone and water in a 3:1 ratio. Soak a cloth or cotton pad with the solution, wipe the stained parts and after waiting for a while, wash them.
The resin may also stain silk or wool. It is best to remove it from these delicate fabrics using protein chicken. We spread them over the dirty part and after a few minutes we start washing. We should wash clothes at a low temperature, using washing powder or gray soap. These home methods will surely help you remove resin from your favorite clothes.
