An accident involving a bus and cars from Rio de Janeiro City Hall caused disruption on Avenida Presidente Vargas, in the center of Rio de Janeiro, this Thursday morning (8).
According to the Military Police, agents from the 5th BPM (Center) were called to respond to the incident, recorded at Rua Santana. The collision occurred on the side lane of the road, towards Candelária.
In images taken by people who were at the scene, it is possible to see the bus between the city hall car, which had its front raised after the collision, and the rear of the completely destroyed van.

According to the Operations and Resilience Center of Rio City Hall (COR-Rio), the side lane was partially closed, but was completely reopened at around 7:20 am. The diversions implemented to organize traffic have also been dismantled.
Despite the opening of the road, traffic continues in the region, with slow traffic starting at the Post Office building, in Cidade Nova.
There is still no information about injuries or the causes of the accident. Rio City Hall was contacted, but had not yet responded until the publication of this report. The space remains open
