Nestlé markets several batches of baby formula milk: PreNAN 400g, NAN SUPREMEPro 1 and 2 (800g), NAN TOTAL 1 (400g and 800g), NAN TOTAL 2, NAN OPTIPRO 1 (800g and 200ml), NAN AR (800g) and Alfamino Júnior.
In , the company justifies: in an analysis, the potential presence of cereulida in a raw material. No cases have been reported, but it is a preventative measure.
Cereulide is a toxin created by certain strains of microorganism Bacillus cereuswhich can cause intense vomiting and diarrhea; but it is a microorganism whose strains, for the most part, have no impact on food safety.
But this Bacillus cereus can create toxins – cereulide, for example – that can cause food poisoning.
The problem is really the dust
But there is a deeper reflection to be made about formula milk.
It’s just that the formula milkprobably contrary to the beliefs of many mothers or fathers, it is not sterile. Does not go through a sterilization process before reaching the market.

The formula “he can be contaminated during the production process, or storage” – and it is precisely for this reason that cases like that of Nestlé (preventive withdrawal, we repeat) can happen.
That’s why, advice repeated about preparing the formulas: boil water; let it cool slightly, but not completely – because it must be at 70 degrees when mixed with the powder; shake well; cool before giving to baby.
This specific temperature, reinforces the certified consultant, helps combat the risk of bacteria present… in dust. Not in the water.
No post-use, other relevant tips: never leave bottles at room temperature, do not store leftovers, do not reheat already heated formula.
