Oberhof – The fact that the Austrians came away empty-handed, Fabian Müllauer, the ÖSV best, ended up in 65th place after three missed shots and Simon Eder came in 73rd, 2:44.3 minutes behind with just one shot error, was a side note in the 10 km biathlon sprint on Thursday in Oberhof. Finally, the Italian Tommaso Giacomel, a close friend of the Norwegian Sivert Guttorm Bakken, who recently died at the age of 28, celebrated an emotional victory on the day.
