The families of the victims, dead or injured, at the Crans-Montana club have filed lawsuits with Swiss prosecutors, a lawyer for a group of plaintiffs confirmed.
“Each family filed a civil suit. The lawsuits have been accepted by prosecutors,” Romain Jordan said in an emailed response to a Reuters question without specifying the purpose of the lawsuits. He added, however, that they are directed “against everyone responsible, without exception.”
Targeting the owners
The investigation into the New Year’s Eve tragedy at the club “Le Constellation” is also directed against the pair of owners who are suspected of manslaughter and other crimes.
As authorities investigate fire and security conditions at the club, local authorities admitted on Tuesday that no checks had been carried out at Le Constellation in six years.
