A trans woman was found dead this Tuesday afternoon (6) in Indaiá Roadregion of Matinha neighborhoodem São José de Ribamar. The circumstances of the death are being investigated by police authorities.
According to the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) of the municipality, a team from Advanced Support Unit was called and confirmed death at the scene. Until now, The victim’s name was not released.
Evidence of violence and investigation
Professionals who responded to the incident reported suspected beatingwhich reinforces the hypothesis of violence. The body was sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML)where tests must indicate the official cause of death.
Witnesses informed the 13th Military Police Battalion (BPM) that the victim was not known in the region. Given the initial information, the case was registered as death to be clarified and remains under investigation to determine the circumstances and identify possible perpetrators.
A Public Security Secretariat of Maranhão (SSP-MA) has not yet officially commented on what happened. The team at Difusora News Portal informed that he contacted the department and is awaiting a response with more details.
