Jessica Moretti, 40, manager and partner of the bar Le Constellation, in Crans-Montana (Switzerland), where 40 people died during a fire that occurred on New Year’s Eve, allegedly fled with the money from the cash register during the tragedy. The owners of the establishment are also accused of destroying evidence after the tragedy.

The woman is accused of abandoning customers at the party while the flames consumed the place. According to the Italian newspaper The Republicseveral witnesses saw her carrying the cash register.
Both she and Jacques Moretti, her husband, owned the place that also operated as a nightclub since 2015. They are being investigated for manslaughter and for causing serious bodily harm to 119 people who suffered major burns during the New Year celebration.
Start of the fire
The fire was reportedly started by pyrotechnic candles stuck in champagne bottles, which hit the foam ceiling.
