Cruzeiro’s reinforcement, Gerson arrived at Toca da Raposa II, in Belo Horizonte, in the early afternoon of this Friday (9), and thanked the Celeste board for their efforts in hiring him.
“I’m very happy. I thank the entire Cruzeiro board for the effort they made for me to come here. Now I’m going to do tests here and then I’ll talk to you more calmly”, said the player in a brief contact with the press.
To seal the signing of the midfielder, Cruzeiro will pay 27 million euros in negotiations with Zenit — around R$170 million.
It should be added that the values could reach up to 30 million euros (around R$188 million), if established goals are achieved by the midfielder at the Minas Gerais club.
Gerson in Russia
Gerson left Flamengo shortly after the Club World Cup, in July, and arranged a transfer to Zenit, in Russia, for 25 million euros — a value equivalent to around R$160 million at the time. In Russian football, the midfielder experienced moments of ups and downs, suffered an injury during his time there and played 15 games for the club.
