Grêmio stumbles against Votuporanguense, but takes the lead in the Copinha

Grêmio drew 1-1 with Votuporanguense (SP), on Thursday night (8), in the third and final round of the group stage of the 2026 Copinha. Despite the stumble, Tricolor from Rio Grande do Sul finished in first place in Group 2.

João Borne scored the Grêmio goal in the 33rd minute of the opening stage in Votuporanga, in the interior of São Paulo. Milani left everything the same for the home team, 26 minutes into the second half.

Higor, from Grêmio, was sent off shortly after Votuporanguense’s equalizer. The young man is out of the next duel.

With the result, the two teams finished the group stage with seven points each. Grêmio had the advantage on goal difference (+10 to +4).

Falcon-SE finished in third place in the group, with three points gained. Galvez-AC was in last place, with no points achieved in this edition of the national youth competition.

Grêmio awaits the definition of group 1 to find out their opponent in the second phase. For now, Chapecoense occupies second place in the group.

Atlético-BA is in the lead. Volta Redonda and Santa Fé-SP are still ‘alive’ and can fill the vacancies. The four teams take the field this Friday (9).
