Journalist Conrado Corsalette, founder of Nexo, dies – 01/08/2026 – Daily

Journalist Conrado Corsalette died this Thursday (8), aged 47. Specializing in political news, he was and was recently deputy secretary of the Poder360 editorial team, in São Paulo.

Graduated from Faculdade Cásper Líbero in 1999, Conrado began his professional career as a reporter at the Grupo’s newspaper Agora São Paulo. He then worked in the State of S. Paulo and, from 2004, in this Sheetwhere he was a politics and news reporter and deputy editor of .

Back in the State in 2012, he was political editor. Three years later, he took over the editorial office of Nexo Jornal, an initiative he founded alongside social scientist Paula Miraglia and engineer Renata Rizzi. With the aim of being an explanatory newspaper, the vehicle specialized in context and data.

At Nexo, in addition to being editor-in-chief, Conrado wrote analyzes about Brazilian politics and music, his great passions. Among his works is , which in more than 70 episodes from 2017 to 2019 addressed national news topics based on political science concepts. In 2022, the podcast relaunched with the miniseries “Uma Crise Chamada Brasil”, which resulted in a book published by Fósforo the following year.

Now editor of the Panel column, he met Conrado while covering Lula’s presidential election campaign in 2002. “Conrado’s great professional characteristic was not limiting himself to breaking the news, but explaining its context to the reader. He did this as an editor and writer. His friends will remember two other qualities: generosity and affection, attributes lacking in our profession”, reports the colleague and friend.

Conrado Dasan Benito Corsalette Lopes was born in Santo Anastácio, in the interior of São Paulo, and lived in Presidente Venceslau. He was also the guitarist and vocalist for the rock band Portnoy. The group’s name was inspired by the book “The Portnoy Complex”, by the American novelist, one of his favorite authors.

He leaves behind his daughters Antonia, 13, and Dora, 11.
