Kim wrote the text in response to a “warm letter of congratulations” that the Russian head of state sent him on the occasion of his birthday.
“It is a profound expression of your friendship and trust in me, my comrades and the entire Korean people. I thank you again for that”, underlined the North Korean leader, after saying that he received it “with pleasure”.
Therefore, he took the opportunity to reiterate that he considers his friendship “as one of the most precious and a source of pride”.
“Our close cooperation will continue in various areas in the future in accordance with the spirit of the comprehensive strategic partnership between North Korea and Russia, the strategic interests of both countries and the aspirations of both peoples,” he added.
Finally, the North Korean leader wished Vladimir Putin “good health and much success in all his important tasks”, while the Russian people “only” wished him “success and victory”. “And I send you my warmest wishes,” he concluded.
