The flu season continues at the beginning of 2026. According to data from the Public Health Office of the Slovak Republic, approximately 22,900 acute respiratory illnesses were reported in the first week of January alone, of which approximately 2,907 were cases of flu or flu-like illnesses.
In Slovakia, the genetic subvariant of influenza type A/H3N2, subclade K, also known as the “superflu”, began to spread. Hygienists confirmed its first case in our territory on December 16. Typical symptoms include fever, fatigue, exhaustion and trouble breathing, often accompanied by pressure or pain in the chest.
The former tennis player also began to feel health problems and Romana Tabaková, ex-member of the NR SRwho currently works as an assistant to MP Dušan Muňek. “THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP. I was as sick as I haven’t been in the last 10 years. And I was at HOME with my son on NEW YEAR’S EVE” she stated on Wednesday, January 7, on the social network.
She immediately described the unpleasant symptoms she was experiencing. “Cold, heat, headache and muscle pain. Nausea. Inflammation in the body. It’s not covid or flu. I was given strong antibiotics,” she disclosed her health condition in detail. She shared with her fans a shot in which an infusion is flowing into her vein. PHOTO can be found in the gallery.
She felt so bad that she had to immediately seek medical help at the emergency room. “If the wonderful people at the emergency room didn’t help me at five in the morning, I’d probably go crazy. Doctors, medical brothers, thank you. LET ME BE HEALTHY AND FIT! I’ll get back to you soon.” she promised supporters.
