PSOL deputy denounces Gayer for linking Lula to drug trafficking – 01/08/2026 – Panel

The federal deputy (PSOL-SP) and the former president of filed a representation with the PGR (Attorney General’s Office) against the Bolsonarista (PL-GO) because of statements in which he associates the president (PT) with drug trafficking.

They ask that a criminal investigative procedure be instituted to investigate what was committed by the parliamentarian.

Gayer published a video citing information published by the Spanish website “The Objective” about a former head of Venezuelan military intelligence who would be willing to report alleged financing of Chavismo on the left in Latin America. The vehicle mentions sources close to Hugo Armando Carvajal and confidential documents to which he allegedly had access. Based on the reports, Gayer states in the video that Lula received money from drug trafficking.

In the representation, Valente and Medeiros state that the Bolsonarist “makes statements that aim to subvert public order, generate a climate of social instability and conspire, through unfounded accusations, against the Chief Executive and against left-wing political organizations.”

The document also says that the parliamentarian violated the law that deals with crimes against the Democratic Rule of Law by attacking sovereignty and “instigating foreign action that affects the sovereignty of the Brazilian State”.

“The federal deputy’s statements, also considering his position in the social stratum, have a relevant social impact, and can, undoubtedly, be related to preparatory acts for other crimes. It is worth noting that the offensive that took place on January 8, 2023 against the headquarters of the Three Powers in Brasília was preceded by a set of statements and threats”, they argue.

When contacted, deputy Gustavo Gayer responded: “I repeat: Lula, PT and the entire left in Latin America were financed with money from corruption and drug trafficking in Venezuela.”

“Please send me this representation because I want to print it and put it in a frame in my office to remind me that I am on the right path,” he wrote.
