During a ceremony held this Thursday (8) to commemorate three years since the criminal acts of January 8 in Brasília, President Lula (PL) vetoed the Dosimetry Bill, which would reduce the sentences of those convicted for the events that occurred in 2023. However, the left believes that the veto could be judicialized.
The opposition is already pushing for a quick analysis of the veto, with the intention of overturning it. The PL, the party of former president Jair Bolsonaro, the main beneficiary of the dosimetry, recognizes that it cannot overturn the veto alone and is betting on the support of part of the Centrão. “There is nothing to expect from a government with so much hatred, but I am convinced that, by agreement with the leaders of the House, we will overturn this veto in the first session of the National Congress”, stated the leader of the PL in the Chamber, Sóstenes Cavalcante (RJ).
