The police are investigating a traffic accident that happened on Thursday (January 8) in the early evening on a second-class road between the villages of Tomášikovo and Jahodná in the district of Galanta. The driver of a car collided with a cyclist who was traveling in the same direction and did not have his lights on. The cyclist suffered injuries that required medical treatment at the hospital. The Regional Directorate of the Police Force in Trnava informed about it on the social network.

At the same time, they remind us of the importance of using reflective elements, which can significantly increase the safety of pedestrians and cyclists. “Cyclists should not forget the mandatory bicycle lighting and in the winter season consider driving in sections where there is snow or ice on the roadside. Pedestrians are advised to use sidewalks, or to move on the left side of the road and to be more careful when crossing the road,” they added.
