Trump is expected to meet with Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado

The Nobel Peace Prize winner said she would like to present the honor to the US president in recognition of his commitment to returning democracy to Venezuela

The American president said this Thursday (8) that the Venezuelan opposition leader and prize María Corina Machado, is expected to travel to Washington next week, and said he is “looking forward” to meeting with her.

“I understand that she will come sometime next week. I look forward to greeting her,” the American president told Fox News Channel.

In an interview with the same American broadcaster, Corina Machado stated that she would like to award the Nobel Prize to Trump for his commitment to returning democracy to Venezuela.

“I heard she wanted to do this. It would be a great honor,” Trump said when asked about this gesture.
