CES 2026: fair highlights innovations in healthcare and real-time translation

This Friday (9) in Las Vegas, in the United States, the CES (Consumer Electronics Show)an event that brought together the biggest technological innovations of the year. The focus of this edition was mainly focused on advances in health-related technologies.

Gabriel RimeCanaltech’s partner, was present at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the fair’s main pavilion, and highlighted the impossibility of visiting all the stands during the four days of the event, given the size and quantity of innovations presented.

Among them was a device for analyzing urine through an app. The system works in a similar way to a pregnancy test: the user uses an individual strip to collect urine and then the application reads it and provides information about the amount of calcium, vitamins and other elements, indicating possible nutritional deficiencies.

Advances for diabetes patients

Another highlight was the Omnipod, a small device with the potential to transform type 1 or type 2 lives. The system works in conjunction with sensors that automatically measure blood glucose levels throughout the day. Upon receiving this information, the Omnipod, which is also inserted into the patient’s body, injects the required amount of insulin, automating the disease control process.

In the area of communication, they caught attention by being able to translate conversations in real time. Gabriel Rime reported that he was able to communicate perfectly with Chinese representatives at the event, even speaking Portuguese, thanks to the subtitle technology integrated into the glasses. The service supports more than 140 languages and requires connecting the device to a smartphone to work.
