In Paraná too there is a risk of storms throughout the state. Intense rains are expected to hit Greater Curitiba and much of the southern and western regions of the state.

As a consequence, cyclones promote moisture convergence and wind acceleration, causing the formation of heavy clouds and wind. The stronger the low pressure system, the more rain and wind will be produced

Understand what a cyclone is

Extratropical cyclones are common meteorological systems on the coast of South and Southeast Brazil.

The phenomenon, which forms between Uruguay and Rio Grande do Sul, generates many rain clouds and strong winds due to the fact that it is an area of low atmospheric pressure organized at several levels.

According to Climatempo, they can form at any time of the year, but are more frequent in the autumn and winter months. Most of them are associated with cold fronts, but they are also capable of starting independently.
