The Federal Government announced the entry into force of the new automatic renewal system for the National Driving License (CNH) for drivers considered “good drivers” — those who have not had any infractions in the last 12 months and are registered in the National Positive Driver Registry (RNPC).
With this measure, the renewal process will be carried out automatically, without the need for travel, exams or payment of fees, providing more convenience and savings for drivers who maintain a good traffic record.

To access automatic renewal, the driver must be registered on the “CNH do Brasil” application or on the Senatran portal (portalservicos.senatran.serpro.gov.br), where it is also possible to check the criteria to be considered a good driver.
The new feature has been in effect since December 10, 2025 and benefits anyone who has an expired driver’s license as of that date, as long as it falls within the program’s rules.
The government highlights that the initiative aims to encourage good traffic behavior, reducing queues, costs and bureaucracy, while at the same time valuing drivers who drive responsibly.
