This Friday (9), the search for Agatha Isabela Reis Lago, aged six, and Allan Michael Reis Lago, aged four, enters its sixth day, mobilizing a task force of state security forces, municipal bodies and community residents.
The case gained new contours last Wednesday (7), when the children’s cousin, Kauã Barbosa Reis, aged 8, was after four days .
The eight-year-old boy was rescued in a forested area in the town of Santa Rosa, approximately four kilometers, as the crow flies, from the point where the children had last been seen, according to PCMA (Maranhão Civil Police).
According to the SSP-MA (Department of Public Security of the State of Maranhão), Agatha Isabela Reis Lago and Allan Michael Reis Lago, brothers, remain missing. The searches continue to be concentrated mainly in the region of Santa Rosa, where the eight-year-old boy was located.
The teams’ area of activity is extensive and difficult to access, with around 10 thousand square kilometers of dense forest, lakes and natural trails, in addition to the presence of wild animals.
“There is little information we have regarding all this, because they are children here from the quilombo who also live in the forest on a daily basis, and this is not at all strange for them. The disappearance is strange for exactly this reason”, revealed the mayor of Bacabal, Roberto Costa.
Authorities reported that new lines of investigation have been opened and, according to PCMA, all possible lines are being considered.
