Greenland’s wealth of mineral resources has to do with its unusual geology


If the US government is currently asserting its claims to Greenland with ever greater vigor, there is ultimately an interest in natural resources behind it. The world’s largest island may be more than four-fifths covered by ice, but even this small ice-free area is twice the size of Great Britain and offers a unique range of resources.
