ICE agent's cell phone captures fatal confrontation in Minneapolis

For the US Vice President, this video is proof that the ICE agent was run over

Video captured by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Jonathan Ross offers a raw, up-close look at the pivotal moments surrounding the fatal shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis.

A Department of Homeland Security official confirmed that the video, obtained by CNN, was recorded by the agent’s cell phone camera; The video was originally obtained by Minnesota-based conservative media outlet Alpha News.

Vice President JD Vance retweeted it, saying it showed the agent was in danger.

“Watch this, as difficult as it is. Many of you have been told that this law enforcement officer was not hit by a car, was not being harassed, and murdered an innocent woman. The reality is that his life was in danger and he fired in self-defense,” Vance posted on X.

The video begins with Ross in front of the vehicle driven by Good, who had stopped the burgundy SUV perpendicular to the street, obstructing the flow of traffic. Ross says nothing as he walks around the front of the car toward the driver’s side.

As she walked around the car, Good could be seen with the window open, looking directly at the agent.

In the video, Good speaks to Ross.

“I’m not mad at you,” she says. Ross doesn’t respond. In the car window, Ross’s reflection can be seen as he holds his cell phone and continues walking.

The video shows Ross walking around the car to the back. The car’s passenger, who had exited the vehicle before the confrontation, tells Ross, “We don’t change our license plates every morning, just so you know. This will be the same license plate when you come to talk to us later.”

He holds the cell phone in Ross’s face as he walks towards him.

“Do you want to come to us? Do you want to come to us? I say go to lunch, little guy,” he says to Ross. That’s when he tries to get back into the car, but the door is locked.

Another officer is then heard telling Good, the driver, to “get out of the fucking car.”

Good is then seen reversing the car and looking forward while turning the steering wheel to the right, away from the officer’s location. The car moves forward and Ross shouts “whoa” and then three gunshots are heard in quick succession.

The video doesn’t show whether the SUV hit Ross, as the camera abruptly shifts to the sky. A recording by a passerby shows that the SUV may have hit Ross as it moved forward and he moved to the side.

The shooting itself is not visible, but three shots are heard as the cell phone in his hand shakes further and faces the house behind Ross.

The camera then captures the SUV as it moves forward. Someone can be heard saying “fucking bitch”.

The impact of the SUV colliding with a parked car can be heard, as can the camera panning down to the street.
