Donald Trump says the United States is ready to attack Iran if authorities kill protesters. The American president once again expressed full support for Iranians protesting in the streets against the government in Tehran.
The Iranian army announced a reinforcement of resources, across the country, to control the demonstrations. In a statement issued this Saturday, Tehran’s armed forces warned that they will do everything to guarantee the security of Iran’s infrastructures and interests, and asked the population to be vigilant and not be carried away by what they call enemy manipulations.
It is increasingly difficult to have up-to-date images of what is happening in Iran. which have been going on for almost two weeks and which have already caused dozens of deaths and hundreds of arrests.
However, the United States once again expressed full support for the Iranian people, and the American president made very clear threats against Iran’s leaders.
The United Nations says that what is happening in Iran is unacceptable and demand that the Tehran government guarantee the right to freedom of protest on the country’s streets.
The demonstrations are against the rise in inflation and the cost of living, which leaves a large part of the population in a highly vulnerable situation, with access to essential goods, such as food and medicine, becoming increasingly difficult.
Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, says the regime will not back down in the face of the wave of protests and calls the protesters vandals.
