A man died this Friday afternoon (9), after falling from a staircase between floors of Shopping Cidade São Paulo, on Avenida Paulista.
According to information provided by the Fire Department, the victim was 52 years old and had suffered an accident after “falling 10 meters down a ladder”. Details about the cause of the fall were not provided. According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), the death was confirmed at the scene by SAMU. The incident will be reported to the Civil Police.
In a statement, Cidade São Paulo regretted what happened and said it sympathized with the family. The company also states that it activated emergency services, isolated the area and is cooperating with the authorities.

The Military Police confirmed the accident and reported that the case was taken to the 78th DP (Jardins). With the exception of the accident site, which was isolated, the other areas of the mall continue to operate, according to the mall “Responsibly, following safety protocols”.
