Maroš Kramár talks about politics: Why shouldn’t the actor express himself? We have more loaded than other people…

Actors increasingly express their opinions not only from the stage, but also on social networks or in interviews. When they touch on politics, they immediately stir up passions. While one group of people welcomes their bold stance, another really bothers them. Not even the actor Maroš Kramár is quiet. who, in an interview for the portal, spoke about politicians’ interventions in the artistic sphere.

He had encountered it before. “I shot the film Another Love with Trančík Dušan, where the conclusion was that the villain would shoot me from behind at the end. The communists said – wasn’t there a single communist who would save him? We have to turn that around. So we reshot the end of the film. They talked about everything. And the same thing is happening today,” he compared the past with the present.

However, according to him, it is not so fatal. “It’s not that bad yet, of course, but we’re heading in that direction a we have to do everything to avoid getting there, to the same thing. They don’t directly prohibit that you must not, this… They cut off who they don’t like, who doesn’t obey, or who says something against them,” he declared how he thinks it works.

He sees nothing wrong with actors commenting on current events. “Theater is a mirror of society. Another thing, you have these children’s stories since childhood, that’s politics. Good wins over evil. Why should the actor not be able to express himself? That doesn’t mean it’s understood. I’m not saying that. I don’t quite understand it either. But I have some feelings. I sense something,” he defended his view of the matter.

He perceives it in a wider context. “We have more loaded than other people. Like just playing it, the relationship stuff. Good, bad. I don’t see that… What can Jarjabek express? He’s an operetta singer, isn’t he? And he does politics“, he said at the end to his colleague.
